Your kids deserve to be outside!

Introducing Nature Club: An outdoor club intended to introduce children ages 5-10 to the wonders of nature.

Children today spend 35% less time playing outside than their parents did. Urbanization, a lack of green space, safety concerns, poor support systems, and reliance on technology has resulted in a 40 year decline in outdoor time for children.

While we aren’t capable of solving all these problems, we do want to better support parents who want their children to learn about the wonders of the natural world, and instill a sense of duty to protect our earth.  We think kids deserve space to run free, gather rocks, dig in the dirt, stare at clouds, and yes, get really dirty in the process.  Bring your kids to the Honey Ranch where we will literally touch ALL the grass!

Instill a Love of Nature

Each 4-week session will have a different theme to help kids explore the wonders of the outdoors!  We welcome kids age 5-10 to our 5.5 acre property each week for 90 minute classes for learning about nature, arts and crafts, and time to run free!  Parents are welcome to drop kids off, or, take inspiration and find your own little space amongst the trees, the pond, or our shaded pavilion with a good book and the opportunity to have your own quiet moment in nature.

$140 for all 4 sessions

About the Honey Ranch

We have 5.5 acre Honey Ranch (plus a pond full of fish and turtles!) for children to explore each week. We also have an air conditioned barn for breaks from the sun as needed and a large covered outdoor pavilion with fans. Each child will have their own inspection kit at Nature Camp with items such as magnifying glasses, flashlights, and compasses that will help them tackle their weekly adventures. We are fully ensured and have been providing tours, classes, and field trips for kids for over ten years!

*Note that this activity is exempt from Child Care licensure from the State of Texas.

Activities at Nature Club

Each session will center around one theme, such as Hangin’ with Honey Bees, Creepy Crawlers, Gifts of Nature, and Pollination Power. Each week, children will be invited to sit in our sitting spot and observe how the world around it has changed from one week to the next, and sketch or journal their observations.  Club sessions will be full of activities like a pollinator scavenger hunt, “I Spy”: the cloud edition, or creating butterfly art out of items such as grass, leaves, and petals found in nature.
